Практическая работа по теме "Сравнение времен Present Simple и Present Continuous"

ЦЕЛЬ ПРАКТИЧЕСКОЙ РАБОТЫ: Научить различать времена по группе сказуемого и ключевым словам, подбирать правильные ключевые слова для каждой видовременной группы или подбирать форму глагола по ключевым словам в предложении.

Разберем на практике примеры, которые позволят вам, уважаемые студенты, научиться безошибочно определять группу сказуемого или ключевые слова для видовременных групп Present Simple и Present Continuous.

ЗАДАНИЕ 1: Раскройте скобки, употребляя глаголы в Present Continuous или в Present Simple.

ПРИМЕР 1: Don’t disturb me! _________ now! (I / work).

В данном примере необходимо: 1. Определить видовременную группу. 2. Поставить подлежащее I и сказуемое work в правильную форму.

Мы видим в предложении ключевое слово now. Значит, сказуемое необходимо поставить в Present Continuous.

Don’t disturb me! I am working now!

ПРИМЕР 2: What …………… ? It looks awful. (you / drink)

Представляем себе ситуацию, в которой происходит диалог. Мы смотрим на кого-то и говорим:

– Что ты пьешь? Это выглядит ужасно!

Ключевых слов нет, но понятно, что действие происходит в момент речи, действие начато, но не окончено. Правильным вариантом будет:

What are you drinking? It looks awful!

ПРИМЕР 3: …………… to catch the mouse . (The cat / still try )

Still является ключевым словом для Present Continuous. Смысл предложения: Кот все еще пытается поймать мышь (действие все еще не закончено, оно продолжается).

The cat is still trying to catch the mouse .

ПРИМЕР 4: ………………. more and more politically aware these days.

(Young people / become)

В этом примере следует обратить внимание на слова these days. Они указывают не на продолжительность действия, а на констатацию факта, общую информацию о чем-то. Соответственно, сказуемое будет стоять в форме Present Simple.

Young people become more and more politically aware these days.

Глагол become не присоединяет окончание –s, так как существительное people всегда имеет форму множественного числа.

ПРИМЕР 5: What ………….. every evening? (John / do) - …………….. soccer. (He / play )

Обратим внимание на слова every evening (каждый вечер). Они являются ключевыми для Present Simple и обозначают систематическое, повторяющееся действие. Предложение следует составить следующим образом:

What does John do every evening? – He plays soccer.

Что делает Джон по вечерам? – Играет в футбол. (играет по вечерам)

ПРИМЕР 6: …………………. to lock the front door . (She / usually / forget)

Обратим внимание на ключевое слово usually, относящееся к Present Simple.

She usually forgets to lock the front door .

К глаголу forget присоединяется окончание –s, поскольку подлежащее, выраженное местоимением she, стоит в 3-ем лице ед. ч.

ЗАДАНИЕ 2: Раскройте скобки, употребив правильную форму глагола.

ПРИМЕР 1: Because of the force of gravity, objects (fall / are falling) down and not up.

Здесь поможет понимание самого предложения. Из-за действия силы гравитации предметы (падают) вниз, а не вверх. Совершенно очевидно, что с предметами это происходит повсюду, повсеместно, а не с одним предметом, который мы наблюдаем в данный момент, поэтому верным вариантом будет fall.

Ответ: Because of the force of gravity, objects fall down and not up.

ПРИМЕР 2: It’s autumn! The leaves (fall / are falling), and winter will soon be here.

Сейчас (именно в данный момент) мы наблюдаем осеннюю пору! Листья падают, т.е. они находятся в процессе падения, поэтому ответом будет:

It’s autumn! The leaves are falling, and winter will soon be here.

Попробуйте порассуждать над следующими примерами самостоятельно. Подумайте, почему ответы будут именно такими. Правильные глаголы выделены непосредственно в тексте.

ПРИМЕР 3. Coffee (grows / is growing) in mountainous areas, not in deserts.

ПРИМЕР 4: Oh, you (grow / are growing) so fast , Johnny! Soon you’ll be taller than your dad.

ПРИМЕР 5: Near the Arctic Circle , the sun (shines / is shining) for more than twenty hours a day at the beginning of the summer.

ПРИМЕР 6: It’s a beautiful day! The sun (shines / is shining) and the birds (sing / are singing)

ПРИМЕР 7: Maria is a professional singer. She (sings / is singing) in the opera every season.

ПРИМЕР 8: Olga likes mysteries. She (reads / is reading) one mystery book every week.

ПРИМЕР 9: Hello, Sarah? I ( call / am calling) you from my car . I’m going to be a little late for lunch.

ЗАДАНИЕ 3: Раскройте скобки, употребив глагол в правильной форме Present Simple или Present Continuous.

ПРИМЕР 1: Let ’s go out. It isn’t raining now. (it / not / rain ) now.
